Do you have a "black thumb" like I do? I seem to kill all plants inside, and sadly, outside of my house. If you want to try your hand at some beginner houseplants, start with one of these. According to BuzzFeed, this list is 9 of the best houseplants that are low maintenance and super easy to keep alive!

1. Snake plants can survive weeks without moisture and don't need directsunlight, making them the perfect plant for anyone who can never remember to water.

2. Spider plants can survive in a variety of light (though they do prefer direct sun)
and grow in most conditions — so, basically, you can keep this alive, I promise.

3. Pothos (or devil's ivy) are tough to kill because they actually like to chill in dry
soil, so they can withstand infrequent waterings.

4. Aloe plants — as I'm sure you know — have awesome medicinal properties
and are super easy to care for if you know the proper techniques.

5. ZZ plants (zamioculcas zamiifolia) are basically indestructible since they cansurvive a variety of environments. If you truly can't keep anything alive, this is theplant for you.

6. Philodendrons involve a little extra attention, but are a great starter plantbecause they can actually teach you basic plant-growing skills

7. Ponytail palms will tolerate your neglect, and even prefer if you leave themalone, so they're great for you if you know from the get-go that you're a terribleplant parent.

8. Peperomia plants are easy-going plants that adapt well to their environmentsand make great desk companions.

9. Fittonias (aka nerve plants) actually like moisture so if you know you're anover-waterer, you and this lil' guy will get along well

Tricks for Those Hard to Paint Areas in Your Home

While some DIY projects seem like they should be left for the pros, painting doesn’t have to be one of them. Basic painting seems easy enough, but sometimes we run into those hard-to-paint areas and regret not hiring a professional. Instead of hanging up the towel, try out these tricks for those spots and see if you can finish your project all on your own (and save some money in the process!) Painting Window Trim Painting the wood diving panes and sashes on windows can seem daunting at first. Most people think that lining your windows with painters tape will help, but that is usually just a waste of time. Instead, just paint away! This is the one time it is okay to get a little paint outside of your target area. When paint gets on the glass, just allow it to dry and as soon as it does, scrape it off with a razor blade. Try not to let the paint set for longer than a day. Painting Behind Toilets Sometimes, the hardest places to paint are the tight spaces where we can’t real...
